Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who had mastered the law, was a challenge to the British judges. He completed his education as a barrister from England. Where he was ranked first among all the students in the British Empire. Sardar Patel was a skilled lawyer as well as a leader of the Indian National Congress. He became India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. Sardar Patel’s behavior was beyond selfishness and ego.

Respecting Mahatma Gandhi’s word, Patel himself withdrew from the election race and Jawaharlal Nehru was made president. At that time, whatever happened as the President of the Congress, it was decided to make him the first Prime Minister of India. Which made Jawaharlal Nehru the first Prime Minister of India to replace Sardar Patel.

Gandhiji’s reason for withdrawing Sardar Patel was that he believed that Jawaharlal Nehru had good relations with foreign countries and Nehru was well versed in foreign ideology while Sardar Patel was well acquainted with the problems and people of India. That is why Nehru became the first Prime Minister and Sardar Patel became the first Deputy Prime Minister.


Sardar Patel devoted his entire life to the cause of India and the Indian people. He had great respect for the views of people of every caste and class and made every effort to provide them with every facility according to their needs. To put it bluntly, no other name seems appropriate in history except Sardar Patel, who would have dared to merge all the 522 small and large states into the Union of India.
